Android Lurker
Here's what worked for me:I had an invisible lock where you trace a specific pattern with your finger to get in. Naturally I forgot the pattern right after I locked the screen. So I went back to where I'd gotten my lock program and uninstalled it from there. That opened the phone. I chose not to re-install the program because I never want to go through that again !

I found out the reason I could no longer access one of my email accounts was because it had been hacked by a third party who changed the secret question and answer. Needless to say, I was upset when I got nowhere with the email service when they would not assist me at all.

How could your dad be confused into thinking that phone was an iPhone? That phone has a fairly large screen - iPhones have TINY screens, the size of a pack of matches.

Re: Need to reset screen lock password, but forgot old one.. Help??????
Have you tried asking on an actual iPhone Forum? We deal with mainly Android phones & tablets here.
Another option would be to take it to your carrier and have then reset it.
Good luck!
(As for being tricked.... Don't feel bad.... My parents wouldnt know an iPhone from an Android). :D
