I can not hear my notifications when they come, any apps to change sounds?

Just go into Menu -> Settings -> Sound and Display (from the home screen.)

There you will find volume settings for media and ringer, along with settings for what notification sound plays.

I'm sure there are sound management apps as well, but I haven't explored any at this point.

I have been there, thanks. None of the sounds are loud enough or long enough for me to hear notifications. How do I add Sounds?

Plug ur evo into the computer. Slide to unlock and choose "disk Drive" then "done"
Now in windows explorer open up the "removable disk" folder
scroll down to "media"
double click on "media" then "audio"
If no folders are present create one called ring tones. All ring tones placed in here will appear in ur ring tone choices on the phone.
I also created a folder called notifications. I place my notification only ring tones in here and they now appear in my notifications box on my phone.

Then first time I did this I had to do a battery pull to get the evo to recognize the folders. But since then when I add mp3's they always appear w/out a batt pull.
