Changing Country with My Samsung Note 10.1 (Korea-Japan)

So....I have a Note 10.1 LTE AKA SHV-E230L (Maybe GT-8020 ???). So I got it working in Japan. But the problem is, when it goes into 4G mode, I lose all voice capability. What can I do to fix this? I am thinking to flash the modem.....but....with what??? Its a SHV-E230L.....so.......what modems can I use? I am on Jellybean 4.1.2. They do not even have the note 10.1 in Japan yet. Or is there something I can add to the CSC files to force 4g/voice to work? Are the modems device specific?? Meaning can I use a modem from a Note II for example, or a LTE Galaxy Tablet??

You will likely need to flash a new modem.

The real issue is finding out what frequencies your carrier supports and making sure the Note also supports the same frequencies. When you say 4G, do you mean HSPA or LTE?

My device supports 2100/850, and my carrier (Docomo Japan) supports 850/1500/2100.

So....my tablet literally displayed "4G" instead of LTE. 4G with zero bars and no voice capability.

Since the note 10.1 is not sold in Japan yet.....and the SHV-E230L is a Korean model........are there any other modems I can flash with?

Ok, so that most certainly should work. What does your model number say in the Settings > About device?

    It says SHV-E230L
    BASEBAND E230LKLAMB1

So......are modem's specific to certain devices? Can I use a modem from a GT-N8020? Or even from a Note 2?

Sometimes this is possible. I don't know enough about the Note to say for sure, but you can damage your tablet if not done properly (in the sense of software, though a brick is possible). I am looking in to it.

Right now I have CDMA selected, because it will stabilize in 3G mode. Here are some screen shots.

I appreciate any help or advice you can give.
I feel like I am on the verge of getting this right.

    By the way
    The device is rooted.
I have removed all carrier settings/CSC files.

It is working much better than when I first tried using it in Japan.

At first I could not even stay connected to 3G......now it is solid.

The original CSC's were for Korea....LG-U+
