What Is "Factory Mode" App Running?

    What Is "Factory Mode" App Running?

    In my list of running apps, it lists "Factory Mode". What is this and should it be running? My phone functions normally.

    Samsung Galaxy Centura
    Straight Talk
    Android version 4.04

    Welcome to the site. Don't know for certain, but if it says "app", I would think it might be an app that you could be able to disable or remove? I would try to access support link for your device where this might be explained.

    It's not a regular user clickable app. It's some sort of system app that gets started by the system I guess. I've tried online chat with Straight Talk and they don't have a clue to what it is. As an interesting but maybe related thing: I let my phone drain the battery till it shut off, and after I charged it, started it, it asked me if I wanted to install a custom ROM (or OS, I can't remember which), to which I said no. Every since then I've noticed the app running. Could I have a virus?

    Thanks. I guess it's just part of the OS. Phone works fine. Just wondering if anybody knew anything about this app.

    It is part of the OS. However not every phone has it. Use any of the app viewer to check the app and its manifest.
