    Actually....
    2.0/2.1/2.1.1 is Eclair.
    2.2/2.2.1/2.2.2 is Froyo.

Correct me if I'm wrong... it sounds like they are all named after deserts?

No correction needed. The naming scheme is intentional to make you "hungry" for them. FroYo, aka frozen yogurt, hitting in the middle of summer was quite intentional too.

Most HTC's have the SenseUI. My Nexus One has Gingerbread installed, and I'd really kinda like to go back to FroYo.

HTC devices run FroYo and Gingerbread -- they just have it skinned with SenseUI, like the Motorola devices are skinned with MotoBlur.

Take a look at Gizmodo, the Gadget Guide for some tongue-in-cheek updates beyond Froyo.

Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone in Googles Android department are just a bunch of fatties? All food, now I'm a big guy (incase people start with the screaming about picking on big people), and as I love food, I love the OS names, though It does seem to be a bit overkill. Guess everyone has to have a theme.

It's intentional. They want to make them sound tempting -- and to make you hungry for them.
