Don't torrent excessively as it is one of the major ways Verizon can, if they so desire, find out you're tethering and penalize you for it. And WiFi tethering generates so much heat it's not so good for your phone as the heat buildup can become excessive.
But yes, you can do it.
Excessively, such as large torrents. Download a Fedora or Ubuntu iso and see if VZW doesn't call you out on it. I'm sure for smaller things it's fine, as I've used mine several times while on vacation and never had a problem with it. But I'm referencing AT&T, not VZW.
Kinda what Dorian just said.
Of course, you can download certain large files to your phone -- I've seen people do it, including full Linux distros -- but with torrents you also have your upload going along with your download. If Verizon wonders why you suddenly wracked up 30GB worth of data use in three days and puts a packet sniffer on your account they'll know in a heartbeat that you're tethering. There's an app to download torrents in the Market, or at least there used to be, but a packet sniffer would see the data connection, so...
Basically be reasonable in your use, don't do it every day and especially not ALL day, and you should be okay.
Yeah. My mouse is malfunctioning MAJORLY (it is a Microsoft mouse, after all), and clicking can be very random, except when I want to click. UGH!
Sorry! My bad!
