    Unable to access Settings menus

    A new problem has cropped up... when I try to access Settings, either from the Apps menu or a shortcut, the screen stutters for a second and returns to the home screen. Any ideas on the cause? Is there another way to access the Settings?

    Two questions;

    Are you rooted? And are you running stock?

    And one more: Does this happen after a reboot?

    I am rooted via z4root. I'm not sure what "running stock" means. Yes, it does happen after a reboot.

    Okay, then you should be able to force-delete the Market and install a newer version of it.

    "Running stock" means you're not ROM'd.

    Thanks, I am running stock.

    Pardon me if I seem dense on this issue...

    What does the Market have to do with the Settings? I assumed Settings were a native Android function and not an App.

    I have the regular Droid and for a while I wasn't able to hit the settings key... the phone just did nothing. And forever I was unable to manage any settings. I finally realized that if you open the keyboard, to the right of the forward slash key (/) is the menu button with 4 lines. Hope this is helpful !
