I don't have a WiFi setup I can test it with, but I've never noticed much of a slowdown with 3G using a Jawbone PRIME headset, though there's no way I could check THAT with a call in or out. Or is it Prime? I always saw it as PRIME. Anyway.

I think that's newer than mine. Mine's a second-gen headset. Ergonomically it's not so hot, and the button placement is a joke, but it's a huge step up from what I was using. Any idea what Bluetooth revision your headset is? If the numbers don't match up with what the X does it might be part of the slowdown.

Dorian, furbearing, and alost are all correct with why it is happening. I also would like to point out that people on VZW are starting to notice their Internet becoming slower and slower on a regular basis.

As in... Is it Bluetooth 2.0, 2.1, 2.1+EDR, or 3.0? The 2.1+EDR and 3.0 headsets have a more robust error correction algorithm, and can operate better under worse signal quality.... like when you have more than one radio on at the same time, like WiFi and Bluetooth, or Bluetooth and 1xEV.

But is the DX capable of 3.0? I thought it was still 2.2. No idea what the headset he's using is.

I believe it's 2.1+EDR on the phone side, but 3.0 headsets have better antenna designs. But either way, 3.0 headsets will autonegotiate to the fastest the device can handle, which I'm 97.2658% sure is 2.1+EDR.
