I've never had that problem. What are you using the Bluetooth for?

Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G can all (potentially) consume a lot of resources. Especially if they disconnect/reconnect often. When developing my Bluetooth apps I noticed one of the biggest causes of disconnects was that WiFi had reconnected and triggered a bunch of apps to think "now is a good time to sync with the internetz!!!"

Needless to say this area of Android needs some work. It's due to something in the Android OS called a BroadcastReceiver. By design it offers devs a lot of flexibility to listen for "events" (changes) in the connection state and other properties in the OS. But as a side effect, it creates scenarios where lots of apps can listen for the same event and all end up competeting for the phone's resources at the same time (right after that event is triggered).

Anyways, I'm babbling a bit, but I'd guess this is some of what you are experiencing. Maybe if you give more info about what you're doing, as furbearinganimal said, we could see what app/tech is doing the hogging.

In addition to what alostpacket so nicely put... Bluetooth and WiFi exist on the same carrier band: 2.4GHz. With WiFi and Bluetooth both on at the same time it triggers a setting called "Co-Existence Mode", so things don't get really dirty.

Microwaves also run on 2.4GHz, so if you have a leaky one it'll wreak havoc. Not to mention 2.4GHz cordless phones, especially analog ones (did they EVER make digital 2.4GHz phones?), bleed like a blown brakeline.

That would do it. My phone usually connects to WiFi at 72Mbps, but with Bluetooth on it connects at 11Mbps, and depending on the distance... slower and slower.

So you're just sitting there, waiting for a call? Interesting. There shouldn't be a problem with the X handling that.

    Are you stock or rooted/ROM'd?

Well, if you're on a call then the CDMA antenna will have priority. That's a given.
