    Old apps to cyanogenmod 7

I loaded Cyanogenmod7 but cannot seem to recover my back up of apps. I log into the android market and the apps I have show installed and I cannot download them again. I tried to restore data, where the apps are, but now the syanogenmod 7 boot (with the circle and arrow around the droid) just continues to appear on the screen and it won't boot.

I really hate to loose all my data. Suggestions?

    Pete

Your old apps will download again once you sign back in. Another suggestion is to use Titanium Backup to back all your apps up and then reinstall them once you get it back from the Market.

Couldn't get Titanium to see the root. Use MyBackupRoot, zipped the apps and then reinstalled everything and restored apps.

Another question if you can, I took the #32 nightly and it asks to wipe cache and data. Should this be done each time you take the nightly or will I lose all the apps again and pictures and music?

Unless the install instructions say otherwise you shouldn't have to do a full wipe every time you install a new nightly. Almost always when moving from nightly to nightly you shouldn't have to wipe anything more than cache, and you don't need to wipe cache most times. Just when moving from ROM to ROM.

That's good news. So far, so good using CM7.

I'm having a similar issue w/ my og droid. backdrop is i rooted w/z4root & rsdLite last week. I just flash Cyanogenmod 7, w/o google apps pckg, and it seems to be working flawlessly so i do believe ive done the flash correctly. now i want my apps, pics, contacs, data back. ive backed up my data, apps + appdata w/Titanium backup prior to CM7 but now i can not restore anything. I am only able access the app market through the browser (no market app anymore) and it shows my old apps' status as "copmlete" and i can't re-download TitaniumBackup (says its already on my device). File Explorer (given w/CM7) shows a file: TitaniumBackup but obv its full of text files and subfolders. But App Manager shows no apps on SD card. i dont know what to do and ive been trying to figure this out all day, reading the forums for help, but i cant figure this out or find a fix. is there anyone who can help me. this sucks, i want my aps back. >:|

Try installing the app pack to get the Market back on your phone so you can download and install Ti Backup and can restore your backup at that point.

I had trouble too with the app pack in getting the market back at first but it finally worked. But if I remember correctly, my backup program made a zip file. I think I booted the phone to root and opened the zip there. I am new and could be wrong there. Listen to furbearingmammal.

Wow, I just realized I had almost ZERO punctuation in my last post. :D

Yeah, you need the app pack to get the Market, and the Market so you can get Ti Backup, and then you can use Ti Backup to restore all the apps and data you had before.
