I believe my Motorola Cliq XT has been hacked.

Alright, here's the story: A couple of weeks ago, I went to my Cliq XT and opened the icon menu. When I opened the menu, there were no icons, but a message that said "scotty" I glared at it, confused. I then pressed down on the menu, then up on it, then suddenly the message was gone with all the icons available. I thought it was weird. The same thing happened last night, I opened the menu on my phone, then another message appeared where the Icons were supposed to be, this time it read "tricks" I'm not sure what the hell it is, because in all honesty, I believe my phone has been hacked.

Immediately do a factory reset. Was your Cliq rooted?

Yes, I agree with factory reset. It maybe an issue with data or a software issue. Too many possibilities so reset will help eliminate some of those possibilities.

Even if I reset, will I be able to access my Motoblur account? Should I create a new one?

A reset will ask you to sign back into your GOOGLE account. I don't know anything about a Motoblur account, didn't know such a thing existed. A Factory Reset will put your phone back to out-of-the-box stock barring any Android updates you may have received. You will need to download all your apps again.

Yep. You'll just sign back into your Motoblur and Google account. Everything, message wise and contact wise, will be restored through Motoblur. But I'd back up my SMS messages with SMS Backup and Restore from the Market. It's free.

Why do you think your account was hacked?

Just an idea (backup is always a sore point when it is too late) - use SMS Backup Android app to save messages on your online email box (gmail account).
