    Root Issues?

Hi everyone, new to the forum and also my first post. I'm a total root noob here and I'm having a little problem. I have a Motorola Atrix on Canada's Bell network, and as far as I can tell I successfully rooted the device using Super One Click. My problem however is that now that I'm rooted, I'm still unable to delete the pre-installed apps that came on the phone. Is there a certain way of removing these apps? Am I not truly rooted? Or am I just doing something wrong? Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. You need to flash a custom Rom to your phone. When you rooted your phone do you have super user app now?

Yes, Super User is now on the phone. How do I flash it with a custom rom?

Sent from my MB860 using Android.net

I would suggest reading about rooting in our android rooting section and then go to our custom rom section. That should explain flashing Rom.

There are no custom ROMs for the Atrix...its' bootloader is locked and encrypted, and has not yet been cracked. Besides, it's not necessary to use a custom ROM to get "rid" of the bloatware.
Get Titanium Backup (paid version) from the market. With that you can "freeze" whatever apps you don't want to see, but they remain on the phone so you can "thaw" them before accepting an official update from Google/Moto/ATT. That will be necessary because official updates will check for certain files in order to allow the update.

You'll find a lot more specific information about this at Atrix Forum - Motorola Atrix Forum

Thanks Wera glad you posted that. I thought that kholk at xda had a BL work around for the Atrix allowing for custom Roms?

Nope, it's one of those things that everyone's all excited about, but probably will never work right. IMHO, that is.
