    2.3.3 Gingerbread

I updated Froyo (2.2.1) the other to Gingerbread (2.3.3). My battery life has significantly improved! The UI remains pretty much the same, and I hqve noticed some bugs in the new update. Hopefully Google is aware of it, and will send out a patch update. Anyone else updating from froyo (2.2) to gingerbread (2.3) experiecing issues?

I noticed the improved battery life too. I haven't noticed any issues so far. My issue with setting up a google account was fixed, I had no problems with it after upgrading.

Forget about improved battery. My phone operates the same as it did before updating. Poor battery life unless I uninstall apps. This is where iOS has the advantage. I don't need apps to continuously run when I'm not using them. Or better yet, deactivate when I kill them.

Apps don't 'run continuously', they can remain in memory (background) but do not use battery in the same manner as if they were 'in use'. Android manages them to conserve the battery. You need to look at battery statistics (about phone) to see what is really eating battery..most often it's playtime, and screentime.

This is the reason why I love androids. They continue to improve and it is free for us users.
