android newbie, please help!!!

hi guys,

i recently brought an arnova 7c g2 tablet (gingerbread). i only want it for the basics so its just fine for me, except for one slight problem. under the settings>security menu there is no option to put a code on the device.

i wondered if anyone could recommend an app to solve this?

would rooting the device help? i am new to all of this and i have no tech/programming knowledge. i have googled rooting and it seems to me very complicated.

does anyone have any advice for me?

A code for what? You want it to be locked and only accessible if you have the code or?

yes, i want it to ask for a code before it can be used, similar to a phone.

There was nothing in security huh? I'm not familiar with that tab but head over to Android Tablet Forum That is our world tablet forum. I'm sure someone there will have an answer.
