Android.net is the premier Android Forum on the internet.
Gingerbread is a version of Android OS. It's Android v2.3.
Google named their OS after desserts and in alphabetical order. Here are some other versions of Android that you may encounter:
Cupcake (v1.5)
Donut (v1.6)
Éclair (v2.0; 2.1)
Frozen Yoghurt or FroYo (v.2.2)
Gingerbread (v2.3)
Honeycomb (v3.0-3.2)
Ice Cream Sandwich or ICS (v4.0)
And Google is working with Jelly Bean (supposedly v5.0, but that's just a rumor)
You may notice that A and B are missing. They were never released. I think they're prototypes.
I was right it is an operating system. I really want to learn how to root my phone. Can anyone give me a suggestion as to how I can learn more about rooting phones. It would be nice to have And up to date version of The android operating system. I want to learn The different aspects of the android operating system. Can anybody point me in the right direction.
