Storage Doesn't Show Any Changes After Downloading

Is there some way to refresh your storage info? In my settings in my old phone there was no refresh button but it refreshed automatically anytime I downloaded anything and checked storage it reflected the reduction in memory. On my new Droid X2 it doesn't show any changes even though I've downloaded flotsam apps and music. I'm looking for a way to refresh or a small app or widget that can tell me my correct memory values.

Is this part of MotoBloat? I mean MotoSuck? I mean Blur? Or is it in the settings that things aren't showing up?

It's in the storage tab of settings. Not sure why it wouldn't show the change in memory. And there's no refresh button or any menu options.

Okay, quick question, then. Are you looking at internal memory or SD storage? Does it fix itself after a reboot?

I'm looking at both. Neither value changes no matter how many times I download something. I can tty rebooting but I doubt I will find success. Is there maybe a good app has a memory counter/manager?

Put the phone in USB Mass Storage mode and copy a large -- like over 1GB -- file onto the SD card. Now get the phone out of USB Mass Storage mode and tell me if the SD card shows the added load.

Oh, and you really should be rebooting the phone every few days to clear the gunk out of the system.
