[GUIDE] Customizing Galaxy Nexus by Unlocking Bootloader
Customizing the devices we have provides us with a new experience. If you are the owner of the Galaxy Nexus, and you wish to customize your device, then you can’t do it without unlocking the bootloader. This will allow you to root your device and then install custom recovery images as well as custom ROMs.
Unlocking the bootloader of the Galaxy Nexus is quite easy. All you need to do is install the Nexus 4G LTE drivers on your computer, enable the ‘Debugging’ of your device, install the ADB and place the flashboot.exe in /tools folder which you will find in the ASDK installation folder. Connect your device with the PC and open the command prompt by pressing and holding the Shift key and right clicking on the folder and selecting ‘Open Command Prompt Here’. You need to do this in the directory where the adb.exe and fastboot.exe are located.
Type in: adb reboot bootloader and press ‘Enter’. You device will reboot into Bootloader mode. Then type in: fastboot oem unlock and press ‘Enter’ and confirm the policy notice displayed, and you are done! Let me know if you need more info
