WiFi Drama with Both S2 and Note

hi i own both a galaxy S2 and galaxy NOTE, and am having the same wifi issues on the both of them. ever since i updated to ice cream sandwich both phones still connect to wifi (or so it says its connected) and yet won't access the internet without using the 3g network. ive tried everything including backing it up and reseting both phones and the wifi will work for a while after that, and then it stops again. is anyone else facing this and has anyone overcome this issue?
