I'm planning on buying a new android device with ICS. I've a dilemma, whether to go for a more expensive device with qualcomm's snapdragon processor or less expensive device with MTK's MT6575 or MT6577. How does Mediatek's processors compare to Qualcomm's equivalent offerings? What's the reason for the obvious price difference between the two manufacturers?

Hi!!! I have exactly the same question, have been looking in a different sites but can´t find anything. I´m also planning to buy a new android device, the first idea was MTK6577...but as they are going to have new quad'core MTK6588, i started looking for existing quad'core CPUs and what i´ve found is Qualcomm´s apq8064...but much more expensive, so does anyone have any explanation of such a price difference??.. (and also is that really better to have a quad'core one than a dual'core?)
..anyway keep looking for....if i found some infomation will share here. Thanks!
