Galaxy S3 Music Player Mutes Itself

I purchased a Galaxy S3 about a month ago, I use the music player via the factory headphones while working out, I usually workout 2-3 hours a day 5 days a week.

The first 2 weeks all went well......then the phone would randomly mute the music player and display "loud music may harm your hearing if you listen to it for a long time", at this point the phone will not let you unmute the music player with the headphones in.

Sometimes it happens after 2 hours.....sometimes 1.5 hours sometimes only 1 hour.......the only solution to this I received from samsung is I will have to hard boot the device to reset the timer.......really?

Does anyone know a better way around this
