You Don't Need a Task Killer...Android is Smarter Than You

I have a read the arguments against the task killers. Android is smart, and will preload what you will need... blah blah blah.

That is BS I have a cheap tablet. I have no GPS no sim card nothing. I have I never used Google maps I have all location services disabled and yet... there it is, always running Google maps. Also I am in China and only use Facebook with a VPN so I have disabled notification yet there is Facebook, running unwanted unable to do anything...

So maybe android will kill apps when it has to..... but it sure is not wisely using what limited resources this tablet has.

Jckatz, if you're not running these programs, can't you simply remove them from your tablet? Why keep them around if you're not planning on using them anytime soon?

Can't remove maps... I have tried but it only allows me to undo the update. However I do use Facebook at work where I have a VPN.

Disable notifications and disable any sync in Facebook. That app will hog some resources. Also, if you can, you may want to try Friendcaster for Facebook instead of the Android FB app. Good luck.

Thanks I will give friendcaster a try. I did disable notifications because ironically those are not blocked by the firewall of China.
