He refers to simply launchers. The title of this thread must have confused him

To answer his question, a launcher in Android OS is an application used to make a user interface for loading other apps. Basically, your home screen and your app drawer is one launcher. You can find many alternatives in the Google Play.

I'm impartial to Nova on my N7. I got it when it went on sale for $.99 (I think) and I've never been happier. The customizations are easy to use and are visually stunning (to me anyways).

Visually...everyone has a different view on that, so I would check out every one and find out what fits your own personal style. 8-bit is still visually appealing to a lot of people! So...I would never say there is one launcher that is more appealing than another and I'm pretty sure everyone would agree.

I use Launcher 8, I like the Windows 8 setup and it works amazingly on my Galaxy Note.

I have tried quite a few launchers but always end back with Go Launcher. Lots of very good themes but again I stick to 1 or 2 themes now max and got rid of most of the other Go Apps as they can be resource hogs and seem nothing more than eye candy. Suppose it comes down to what you get used to. I tried the trial of Next Launcher and to be honest did not like it one bit. Clunky messy interface , could not get used to it at all. Has potential but its not near being a next generation launcher. (IMO) Needs much more work doing on it. And the 9 or 10 quid price tag well just don't justify it

GoLauncher is a great third part launcher! I used it for a couple of years when I had my Galaxy S1 (Fascinate) and it was an amazing launcher. When I upgraded to the Galaxy S3 last July, I went with Apex Launcher. Simply because (at that time) GoLauncher wasn't completely optimized for Jelly Bean. Since then, Go has been upgraded to work great with JellyBean, but I've stuck with Apex, basically because it was built from the ground up (along with Nova Launcher) to be optimized specifically for JB. I like Apex so much I went ahead and purchased the Pro version which includes a few extra features.
It's definitely worth a try. If you like Go, you'll like Apex & Nova.....both of which have a tremendous amount of customization options.

I agree with you CR6 - GoLauncher is the best I've tried.

On my phone, Nova Pro....I also like SSLauncher, but Nova is easier to use.

On my tablet, I actually like the TouchWiz (native) launcher....

Yeah, Nova and Apex were built from the ground up specifically for phones with the Jelly Bean OS. I run Apex on my S3 and like Nova, it's a great launcher.
