Evidently I'm not as up to par as I thought I was. About a month ago I noticed that a few compressed Android files that extracted with Winrar yielded "exe" files not "apk" files. When I clicked on them nothing happend. Now close to half of the files I try to extract turn out to be "exe" files. What's going? Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Ish!
I'm not up on the difference between WinRar and WinZip. i lnow they both create forms of compressed files, but how they differ I don't know. Hang on for awhile and we'll see if any of the other members know and can offer advice.

Re: Winrar extractions
Are you sure the files were supposed to be .apk? How do you know these are Android apps? RAR should not change the files. But if you are sure those are Android apps, simply rename it from *.exe to *.apk and Android will read them as apps. If it fails to install it, then the files are either corrupt or not Android apps at all.
