- We give you more pictures of it.
- We leak the user guide.
- Supposed to be released on November 11.
- Rumored to be delayed for an LTE radio.
- Appears on Verizon’s site briefly.
- Disappears and is no where to be seen at CES.

Yes VZW acquired them but they still continue to serve 6 states. I don't know which ones though : (

Could it be new variations of current phones will be going to alltel...Droid x2, incredible 2, etc. They'll be 3g and most on VZW wouldn't upgrade to one. Just a thought.
That looks so attractive, it is very eye catching.
HTC Merge with Alltel Branding may be released by the end of February | HTC-Merge.com
If current rumors are correct, the HTC Merge device that just emerged with Alltel branding will debut on the cellular network by the end of next month (February), despite rumors it would first debut with Verizon branding.
The Merge was originally rumored to debut on the Verizon network by the end of 2010, however the device eventually disappeared completely, only to resurface with Alltel branding.
Rumors surrounding the device say it needed to be reconfigured for LTE network use, but was then left off Verizon’s first 4G promotional campaigns, leading to speculation that it would appear elsewhere.
Reports point to a 3.7 inch touchscreen display (800 x 480 or higher pixels of resolution) for the device with a Snapdragon CPU, while pictures show a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
There is still no Alltel pricing or availability information and Verizon Wireless has not commented on whether the device will still appear on their network at a later date.
The HTC Merge is the latest addition to the already extensive Android phone lineup by mobile phone giant HTC. It is to be released exclusively on the CDMA band and is operator specific to Verizon. The Merge is expected to be released sometime during early February 2011 as reliable sources and rumors suggest.
At first sight, this phone doesn’t feature much more than the current market leaders such as the HTC Wildfire, in the budget range and the higher end HTC Desire or the competing Samsung Galaxy line of phones. The screen is standard for HTC phones with a 480×800 resolution and 3.7 inches wide with capacitive touch for optimum user satisfaction. The display features 16 million colors for crisp imagery.
It is unclear about the processor that is used to power this phone but it is inevitable that it needs to be a powerhouse. It is expected to match the performance of the Hummingbird processor and might even feature a dual core processor for ultimate multitasking. The Merge will run the Sense UI, a proprietary OS, which is a modification of the Android operating system. Thanks to the open source OS, there will never be a dearth of applications for this phone and almost everything under the sun can be implemented in an application.
The Merge is expected to take on the CDMA market and compete with the Galaxy S and the Droid lineup from Motorola. Given the impeccable quality that HTC promises and the circulating rumor that it will be 4G equipped, expect this phone to go off the shelves as soon as it hits the stores!
