I spoke to the developer or Walkabout and he got nothing for the thousands of downloads his game got as the FAOTD.
DO NOT WRITE IN THIS SPACETHIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK
This doesn't bode well for the success of amazons app store. I know I wouldn't put an app on there and lose those kind of sales.
end of line...
That shocked me, too. It may be based on sale price for the app, though I'm guessing on that one.

I *think* I'd be pissed, too..but then again, it's only d/l's for a day, and it was free publicity possibly linking to future sales that otherwise would not have been generated. Sucks that you are suddenly on the support hook for non-paying users, though. Maybe devs who would be overburdened by a FAOTD offering could opt out of FAOTD...that would be a fair compromise, imho.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beerholder
I think you can always opt out -- but it's tempting to get the publicity. I think the lesson I learned here though is the publicity may not be worth it if the support is so much more work, especially you have to add servers/other infrastructure to support an app.
Perhaps a small app that required little to no support might be worth it though.
I couldn't do it. My knowledge and skills are valueable.
I help here because I like my colleagues. I also get ideas and am working on a couple projects.![]()
