A couple of days ago we didn't quite get to the leaked press render of HTC's new mid-range device the Desire 8. It's a quite attractive little mid-range/budget-friendly device, but we had higher priorities that day. We now also have the leaked specs and a couple of probably carriers for the device, so we thought it was more pertinent to share now. Here's the full skinny:
  • Quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5.5-inch 720p display
  • 13MP rear cam
  • 5MP front cam
  • 8GB storage
  • A microSD
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0
  • On-screen buttons
  • Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0

As you can see, some of the specs are pretty impressive, while some are not. Of course, this is meant to appeal to a different crowd than the usual Android enthusiasts, so it could hit a sweet spot if priced appropriately. There's one other morsel of intel to share. We have word that this device is likely to be coming to Sprint and AT&T. There's no word on the other two major U.S. carriers, or any of the the second-string carriers, but we will keep you updated as more info emerges.

More than likely all will be revealed regarding this device at Mobile World Congress next week. Stay tuned!
