Motorola Apparently Not Satisfied With Android

Between the dwindling opportunities for hardware differentiation in the smartphone and tablet markets, and the Windows-like commoditizing effect that Android is having across mobile device makers, Motorola Mobility (like its competitors) have few options but to build their own user experiences.

Apparently, Android might not be good enough for Motorola Mobility. At least not as it comes in its plain vanilla form.

+1 ... no kidding! moto hasn't released a stock-vanilla system since the Droid 1... so it's sort of "old news" that Moto doesn't plan on releasing vanilla ROMs... and that's why Google has not chosen Moto for their last two dev phones which are always "pure" android.

The newest versions of Blur are getting less-craptacular reviews, so it's possible that with Gingerbread finally getting baked up for our phones that Motorola is getting at least SOME of their crap together. We shall see.

LOL. After 6 major platform updates they better had. 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.1u1, 2.2, 2.2u1... Hopefully Gingerbread will be the saving grace for Blur. From the videos I've watched of it, it looks to be pretty nice. (And that comes from blur hater #1)
