Rooted and Deodexed Gingerbread on the X

Can't believe no one has posted this yet.

But if you've been living under a rock for the last 3 days, it's here: Gingerbread for the Droid X.

Courtesy of P3 and Team Black Hat.

Well this is what we all were waiting for, Gingerbread, DroidX and Root and Deodexed

Deodexing was done by Xeudoxus, give him a big thanks and a follow on twitter.

    Follow these directions carefully.

YOU CAN ONLY USE THIS FILE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY UPGRADED TO GINGERBREAD

    1. Download the following file and place on the root of your sdcard.

    File size = 148 MB (155,375,010 bytes
    md5sum = 326b9c62b6f85cdfa175e66a5167ad7c

    2. Put phone into bootstrap recovery

    3. Install the file you downloaded above

    4. Sit back and watch (Your phone will bootloop for approx 30 secs, if any longer than that, pull battery and restart your phone.

You should now have gingerbread and it should be rooted.

    SPECIAL NOTES:

    5. You have to use D2 Bootstrap on Gingerbread, DX bootstrap won't work.Get it here Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap v1.0.0.3.apk

    6. If you're having Sync Issues After flash you need to Go back and do a Factory Reset in Stock Recovery. It helps if you do it multiple times. I usually do it 3 or 4 at a minimum.

    7. IF YOU FOLLOW P3Droid ON TWITTER YOU ALREADY SAW THAT IF YOU WANT TO KEEP ROOT THEN YOU SHOULD NOT ACCEPT THE OTA.

Market fix has been applied to build.prop - if still having problems see below

    8. Apps missing from your market? Here's an easy fix compliments of JRummy. Get it here.

If you haven't done the upgrade to Gingerbread yet instructions to get there are here Droid X Gingerbread (2.3.3) - Release - PreRooted

Please read the instructions and follow the steps and in no time at all, Gingerbread on the X. I've been running this since Monday and have to say that this is exactly what the X needed. My Quadrants are in the 2100 range and Linpacks are around 22 or so consistently.

Blur is much improved and I actually have decided to keep it, but the Widgets except for weather had to go.

So to be clear and at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot... Seeing that I already SBF to stock and upgraded to Ginger, if I want to get this one i just with the deodexed i just throw it on my sd card and boot to recovery and install from zip?

That is correct. That's what the big "you can only use this if you have already upgraded" line was about. You CANNOT use this file to upgrade from a stock or unrooted phone.

I would like to SBF so would I have to load the regular ginger first?

I was trying to connect Droid x via usb and it is not connecting in PC mode. RSD Lite is not detecting my mobile with the USB Mass Storage Mode...
