Qualcomm 1.5 GHz Benchmark Result Amazes
When NVidia introduced their Tegra 2 dual core processor we were amazed by the performance this little chip produced, well Qualcomm has something they think is better. The latest processor to be tested in an independent benchmark test, the 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8660, did an outstanding job at proving Qualcomm’s dominance. The processor smashed the competition by keeping the same size and pushing the performance level enough to give it a 38.5 native resolution frames per second. This score is amazing compared to the 31 FPS score the OMAP powered Optimus 3D, or the 25.2 score received by the Tegra 2 powered Optimus 2X. This processor has yet to make it to device manufacturer’s tool box, but for the time being we can enjoy the performance the LG Optimus 3D’s provides till Qualcomm pushes this new processor out or even when NVidia releases their next line of processors --do I hear a Quad Core powered train coming? The battle continues.

Dual-Core A9 @ 1.5GHz would slaughter the Qualcomm offering. Sad but true.
Why the MSM8x60 isn't an A9, I have no idea. Why Qualcomm sticks to 128bit NEON extensions... because it gives them benchmark superiority. They don't help in real world applications.
I don't usually say anything like this, but I'll hand it to Apple with their A5. Amazing SoC. Dual-core A9 AND a Multi-core PowerVR SGX543MP2. 3-4x the GPU performance of even the Xoom.

Indeed.
At least we know what Samsung's next SoC will be like. ROFL. They ride Apple's coattails.
