Two months ago, Google announced 2 billion (Yes, we said Billion) applications have already been downloaded and installed on devices… Apparently that digit just went up to 3. This growth is staggering because it means the OS is seeing 1 Billion per 2 months period download rate, which if you compare to Apple’s time is a huge different. Apple hit 1 Billion application download April of 2009, and 2 years+ later, they announced they hit 10 Billion installs. At this rate, Android should hit that by the end of the year or early next.

Regardless of all the numbers, this just goes to show that Android is only getting bigger and bigger every day. Now if Google is in the mood to take over the world, I think our communication devices will be under their total control.
