New Acer Tablet-Phone Makes Quick FCC Stop Before Release

Remember that weirdly shaped device that was debuted by Acer at MWC, well the FCC certainly wonít forget it. The new Android 2.3 powered tablet-phone, yes, we had to make a new word for it, just took a few mug shots with the FCC, went for testing and hopefully will hit the shelves soon --Acer previously promised an April launch date. The device is destined for AT&T with its 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512MB each of ROM and RAM, an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, a 2 megapixel front-facing cam, micro-HDMI output capable of 720p, a 1500mAh user-replaceable battery and all the usual 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1. Did we mention the screen resolution of that 4.8 inch display is a whopping 1024 x 480? Yes, this certainly seems like the most have tablet-phone of the year (even though itís the only).

Who here is ready for this beast of a device? Share your thoughts below.

4.8" seems to be above the sweet spot for phone sizes. It'll be interesting to see how the masses embrace it.
