[Rumor] Toshiba Abandoning Windows 7 Tablet and Its Chromebook

DigiTimes recently reported a rumor that Toshiba has removed the Windows 7 Tablet and their Chromebook from their product lineup. Speculation is that they have decided to focus all their efforts on their Honeycomb Tablet instead; however, it is also possible that because of disappointing netbook sales in 2010, that Toshiba has decided to take a" wait and see when the market timing is right" approach. Here's a quote from the DigiTimes article,

As for the Chromebook, the sources pointed out that due to Toshiba achieving lower-than-expected performance in 2010 for its smartbook products, which feature a similar industrial design as a netbook but adopt the Android operating system, the company is taking a conservative approach toward the newly formed market segment.

Let's intend that they are simply holding out for better market timing instead of a cancellation all-together.

Windows recently admitted to the absence of a true tablet OS and with the rumors of Win 8 tablet version running on ARM arch, providing for a more cost effective solution, most if not all manufactures will be dropping their Win 7 tablets.
