Wondering what the FCC’s latest thoughts on the whole T-Mobile AT&T thing is? Well a recent quote caught my eye in a wall street journal post. The quote basically says the T-Mobile AT&T deal can be a good thing when it comes to keeping people from anticompetitive actions, but also says this whole deal can be a bad thing. The governmental agency said, “a merger can potentially form a stronger provider that restrains competitors from engaging in anti-competitive behavior, or may increase the likelihood that the merged firm may itself, or in coordination with other firms, would obtain or maintain market power.”
The FCC hasn’t been very strict with their latest proceedings and so this could be signs that the whole deal could actually be approved, but from this natural statement, we have no idea which way they are leaning.
