    Microsoft: True Winner With Android

We all know that Microsoft has been cleaning up with their patent battles these last few months but do you really know how well their mop is? According to a report, with every phone or tablet HTC sells that run on Android, Microsoft makes $15 right away. $15 dollars for doing nothing sounds great right? Now they also have deals with 6 other Android manufacturers and today they set their sights on the biggest of them all; Samsung. Samsung reportedly sold 3 million Galaxy S II in the last 55 days in Europe and Asia alone. That’s very similar to Apple’s 5 million iPhone 4’s that were sold in a month considering the iPhone 4 came with loads of media coverage, leaks, web hype, Apple brand name, and Availability in the US market. The Galaxy S II has almost none of those things, and somehow it managed to sell 3 million copies in the markets it’s available in. After Microsoft heard that they are now suing Samsung for patent violation, and if they win, they’ll be making money from every major Android manufacturer in the game. Microsoft of course cannot go after Google because the Google was smart off the bad and made Android a freeware, and you can't sue someone for giving something for free.

Originally people thought Microsoft was doing this to scare companies away from Android, but now it’s become apparent that they are doing it for the money. Microsoft, with their hundreds of patents, could easily make Google’s creation profit them more than anyone since they have no cost to pay other than their expensive lawyers. Nonetheless, it’s sad that companies have to get this low to make money, but this is a business world so things like this will always happen; if I was Microsoft’s CEO, I’d do the same thing.

Microsoft never paid their antitrust fine to the US government. Where do they get the right to sue others for patent infringement when they're still guilty of being a monopoly?
