Look out Verizon! Your position as the most advanced network in the world is being threatened by Rogers’ new LTE network launch. Ottawa Canada is the launch site for the first installment of the network’s LTE service, and Rogers is saying they will be the fastest in North America. Rogers did what Verizon did to help ease their costs to steup a super fast network; they introduced a tiered data plan along with this new service. Their new plan is called, the LTE Flex Rate Plan and the prices start at $45 for 1.5GB to $90 for 9GB -- with every GB thereafter deftly adding another $10 to your bill.
It’s nice to see Canada getting a taste of speed, and hopefully this development spurs the other networks to improve their infrastructure and fight a little better with LTE speeds.
