[Rumor] Samsung Galaxy SII Having Trouble Getting Adopted by US Carriers

In a strange twist of fate, one of the most hotly anticipated, and hottest selling smartphones (in Japan), the Samsung Galaxy SII, is being held back from U.S. consumers right now. The Galaxy SII, which already sold more than 3 million units in Japan in just two months, is being held up by tougher than usual negotiations with carriers. It appears that the different carriers are weighing their options with all the strong competition from new HTC and Motorola phones. This has dragged out contract negotiations with Samsung to bring the "flagship" device to the States. It seems almost inconceivable that the device would be in this position, but a crowded field of advanced smartphones keeps pushing the U.S. release of this amazing phone further and further back. With the Motorola Droid Bionic about to hit stores next month, and a potential new iPhone from Apple likely coming in the fall, will it be "too little, too late" for the Galaxy SII?

I just received mine(unlocked) and these carriers may be making a huge mistake if this is indeed the case. I would speculate more towards Samsung not being able to produce them fast enough.

I've heard conflicting reports. I'm leaning toward lawsuits being the main cause of carrier hesitation.
