HTC Wildfire S Now Available For $79.99

The HTC Wildfire S has had its share of rumors, and luckily the release date rumor came true. Today the Wildfire S became available on T-Mobile’s website. The phone runs Android Gingerbread, has a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 512MB of RAM, a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz CPU, and a 5 megapixel camera. All of that is packed in the phone’s small case, and is going for a decent 2 year contract price of $80.
This is certainly not a premium handset like we normally see. Rather, the phone is aimed at the people that are low budget but still want a pleasurable Android experience.

Good amount of RAM, but small screen and slow CPU. Overall I'd say fine for a casual user.

Is it with me or with every android phone? coz once when i start an application it stays open either in foreground or in background which constantly consumes battery power even after using task killer app, the battery drains too quickly and i dont understand why. Even i am not an extreme user then what mite be the reason with my htc wildfire s. Is it OS version or android app being buggy causing this problem. Now finally i am deciding to reset my phone back to factory settings but as i haven't done before i doubt will reseting cause me to lose my existing data? Any one pls could help me with other alternative rather reseting the phone.

A friend told me to update the firmware of the phone but i dont know the procedure. Will it be able to solve the problem and he even told me updating the os of the phone needs expertise or else i would lose my data. Guys i dont know what should i do and phone is really creating pain in my arse. Any one could help me either way?

Settings> About Phone> Check for Update. If that shows you're up to date, please repost with your system version listed in the About Phone screen and we'll try to help.
