This story is actually from the end of last week, but it looked pretty interesting. Apparently, the facial unlock feature on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus can be fairly easily tricked with just a picture of your face. This leads us to the conclusion that it is really designed to be a feature of convenience rather than security. You can see this demonstrated in the video above.

Although this is slightly disheartening, in a way it isn't really surprising. This is just one step along the evolutionary road. Eventually, the technology will be more than a neato gimmick for the sake of simplicity, but for now, the tech just isn't quite there. Does this affect your decision to get the Galaxy Nexus?
