Today Samsung announced that they are beginning to roll out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on international variants of their Galaxy S II. The new operating system update will be available to European markets including Hungary, Poland and Sweden, as well as Korea. Samsung stated that the update will "gradually roll out to other markets" and "the availability and scheduling of the software upgrade and specific models upgradable to Android 4.0 will vary by market and wireless carriers' requirements."
If that wasn't enough love for the Samsung users, They also announced that an ICS update for their Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Tab 10.1 would follow shortly. If you happen to be in one of the select markets and get the update let us know how it is, and for those still waiting check back and we'll keep you updated.
[UPDATE] Samsung has announced that UK versions of the Galaxy S II are expected to receive ICS starting March 19th. Keep in mind this is a tentative date that assumes the build will pass carrier requirements with no issues. If all goes well we should see the update roll out early next week in UK markets.
