In a strange twist of events from this morning's news, there is rumor circulating out of Asia that Google has approached Huawei and offered to sell the handset division to them. Naturally Google has not responded to these claims, but this rumor is not that far fetched. Google has their work cut out for them as they walk the fine line with partners in the Android space. Showing favoritism to one manufacturer could potentially alienate other hardware makers, and therein lies the "problem." Selling off the Mobile division is a sure fire way to solve the conundrum they could find themselves in. At this point we can do nothing but speculate, because the story is unverified and simply rumor, but it is a very interesting rumor to say the least.
The acquisition is still not complete, and there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Will Google Inc sell off Motorola Mobility? We simply cannot say for sure, but it is a real option. Smart move? Bad move? Please weigh in.
