T-Mobile Shedding 'Nice Girl' Image; Carly Drops Pink Dress for Leather & Motorcycle

T-Mobile is apparently tired of being dead last when it comes to the big carriers, and they are attempting to compensate by dumping a ton of money into a new $200 Million dollar marketing campaign. In this campaign, the key element is still Carly, (the ever familiar sweet brunette that has been a part of their advertising from 2010. However, Carly will be getting a "reboot" of sorts. She is shedding her "nice girl" image, and literally dropping her pink dress for a Matrix-style leather outfit and a motorcycle. We aren't sure what those elements have to do with smartphone service, but she looks so good in the outfit, it will certainly be interesting to find out. This new direction for the advertising will open up with the tagline “No More Mr. Nice Girl.”

T-Mobile senior VP Peter DeLuca said in an interview, “We’re working toward a brand refresh later in the year. We really can’t wait until the end of the year to make some noise in the market. We really want to set the record straight and say to the consumer they really should be taking a second look at T-Mobile."

I like it - she's very pretty, and the motorcycle outfit looks good on her.

While it looks good, I prefer her original image. And as far as I'm concerned T-Mobile lost me when their customer service deteriorated around the time of the rumored, failed takeover. I don't think things are going to improve in order to get me back as a customer. It would take a lot of better treatment and not just a snazzy commercial.
