OUYA's Popularity Rises Fast; Already Raises $8.6 Million in Just a Month

It doesn't seem like it was a month ago that we first broke the story about the OUYA Android gaming console, but time ticks by quickly in the tech world. The incredible little start-up concept's popularity has certainly skyrocketed in that short time. The concept's original investor goal on Kickstarter was $950,000 dollars. That goal turned out to be paltry in hindsight, as they shattered it in less than 24 hours.

In just about a month, they have already hit almost 10 times that original goal. Their investor pledges are already up to $8,596,475! Additionally, during that time they have racked up a ton of great partnerships with some big players in the industry. Here's a quote with a recap of some of them,

We just added game streaming through OnLive! Final Fantasy will be on OUYA...and we have an exclusive game! And VEVO has agreed to put their music videos on OUYA, XBMC adds a streaming media app, with TuneIn and iHeartRadio adding music!

They also announced that when the device does go live in the future, it will be televised. Of course, this isn't surprising, and we would expect nothing less. As always, we will keep you in tune with any new developments.
