It looks like Sony might beat Microsoft to the punch with a similar design to the Surface tablet, at least after you accessorize. Above you see the new Sony Xperia S Android tablet coupled with one of the accessories that will be available for the device. It's a cover for the tablet that also duals as a keyboard. As you can see it looks remarkably like the MS Surface product that was teased not long ago. We don't have any specific dates on this yet, but it is possible we will see the tablet and its accessories before Microsoft launches their Surface tablet. More than likely we will know something for sure within a few days, because Sony is expected to announced those details during IFA 2012 on August 29th.

Additionally, a slew of other accessories have been spoiled for the device including a non-keyboard case, a privacy screen, and a couple different stands, including some multimedia stands, to convert the device into a convertible home media player.

As a refresh, here are the specs on the Xperia S Tablet:
  • Android 4.0/ICS with Jelly Bean expected soon after launch

  • Quad core Nvidia Tegra 3
