VZW & HTC Exemplify Sub-Par Software Support with ICS Update for HTC Thunderbolt
Would you like to have a prime example of unacceptable and sub-par software support? Look no further than Verizon Wireless & HTC. It is now February 2013 and they are finally releasing the promised Ice Cream Sandwich update for the HTC Thunderbolt. You remember that phone, right? It launched in the early part of 2011. ICS was ready at the end of 2011. Here we are two years later and they are finally gracing the device with Android 4.0, when the world has moved on to Android 4.1 & 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
At first blush it might be easy to point a finger solely at Verizon on this, but you would be mistaken. It was toward the end of 2012 that HTC Tweeted the ICS update would be ready "soon" for the TBolt. This likely means they dragged their feet as much as Verizon.
Ah well, they kept their promise, and at least the few users in the world who still have Thunderbolts can experience the tastiness of Google's shiny new 2011 Operating System.
Let's here a shout out from all of our amazing Thunderbolt owners!!!
