Android.net is the premier Android Forum on the internet.
How long did you let it sit? It'll take up to 15 minutes. If it takes more than that, back out, restart the rooting process. If it still won't work we'll try something else.
Two questions -- are you running 2.2 or 2.1? Second, do you have access to a PC? If so we'll try SuperOneClick next.
Its been here for 20 mins. before I gave up. I'm running on 2.2 and at the moment I do not have access to a PC.

Okay, it's very common for companies to block the rooting exploids, at least with the one-click on-phone apps. Try it one more time (unless you've already done that). USB Debugging is enabled, right?
Alright, if you've done it twice and it still won't work then we'll need access to a PC. I have to run out, pick up a few things, and eat supper (if I feel up to that part of things), but I'll be back this evening.
Any luck so far?
I left it there for 45 mins. and no luck. Ill use a PC at school in the morning. Lol

[APP]SuperOneClick v1.7 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App) - xda-developers
That's what you'll want to use.
As long as it's not made by HTC I'd give it a go. Since yours is a Sammy phone, I'd say go for it.Worst it can do is NOT root your phone. :D
K so I downloaded it and there are "no applications that can open this file." I extracted the .zip file and the only thing in there that I could open was superuser.
