I'm a keen skier and I've got a Sony Xperia Miro. A friend of mine recently bought a used GoPro camera to record our skiing.

I mentioned to him that it would be good, after recording some video on the mountain, to put the micro SD card into a phone to preview the footage.

I put the card into my phone (I downloaded ES File Explorer to allow me to locate and open the file).

The file displays what I assume is a 'broken/link/file' icon (the same icon appears in place of the images/videos that are on my sd card that I had to remove to insert the one from the GoPro. The the camera 'movie player' says that it is unable to play the file.

The file is good, as when I copy the file to my pc and copy it back to the same sd card the file plays perfectly through Movie player.

Can anyone explain why the file only works when copied to the pc and back again?

Welcome to the forum! :)

You'll need to hang on for a bit until one of our technicians get's free and can swing by and give you a hand with the problem.

Hmm mm. How old is the camera? Did you try formating the SD card in the camera before using it?

Save the files to your pc before any formatting.. Or you will lose your footage..
Also, SD cards can be delicate.. Be careful on the transferring of the card.
