Hello to everybody,

I want to connect 2 or more android devices via Wi Fi in a client server paradigm...
My question is if I could possibly change some of the transmission parameters.
For example the power of the packet transmission, the rate of the transmission or the time that the packets will be sent...

If anyone has a clue, please respond. Thank you very much!

Can you be more specific? Are you looking for Ad-hoc networking or local LAN-style over an AP? The power stuff I would think is very low level hardware dependant stuff. Timing packets isn't too hard though but it depends a lot on what type of packet you're trying to send, Datagram/UDP/TCP/etc... UDP/Datagram goes as fast as it can right when you send it while TCP has control built into the protocol to ensure packets are resent if dropped/lost.

For sure this isn't beginning Android dev though :)

Anyways sorry if that isnt much help but I had to try and answer this because of my forum username, I couldn't resist! :)

I'll offer a suggestion: FileLinx Pro on the Android market. Client is Android. Server resides on a PC and is Java which is downloaded from their site, free. Server supports multiple Clients. Printing support as well. Access to the entire "C" drive by any Client. Works in LAN or WAN. Client can save settings of up to 10 servers. Multiple Clients can exchange files through the server.

FielLinx Standard offers the same but only to a designated share folder on the PC.
