I just found this today on the Studentrate website. You can order any Sprint phone from their Amazon Link (http://wireless.amazon.com/b/684177011/?_encoding=UTF8&tag=studentrateco-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325) and they will apply a 23% discount to your monthly bill.

You can find more info here AMAZON WIRELESS STUDENT DISCOUNTS (http://****************/StudentRate/forum/yaf_postst763_Amazon-Wireless-Student-Discounts.aspx)

What do you think? Good deal?

How much is the discount off the bill? I think it could be a good deal, especially since Amazon has the White HTC EVO for only $89.99 compared to Sprint's $199.99

The Epic is only $49? hmm that may sway my decision. I don't know about activation fees but I do know they offer free 2 day shipping.

June 4 is what I heard from the grape vine... Sprint could pull the same EVO debacle as last year though and not release it to build up the anticipation. who the hell knows?

I just heard it's the end of the June now

Sprint could pull same as last year, but did not release it crash EVO established expectations. In the end who knows?

I just saw that the Black EVO 4G is only $99.99 on Amazon.I wonder if I should get it now at that price while I can rather than wait for the EVO 3D...suggestions?

That would be so annoying. What I don't understand is why Sprint hasn't announced a release date yet? and why there are "secret" pre-orders going on at BB and RS?

Sprint just can an official date of June 24th for the EVO 3D release. They can't push it back now right?

Katee

I don't think they will "push it back" ... but they can have it available online for like 3 hours to create a huge buzz then backordered. Which is why so many people want to pre-order

GreenMachine

That would really suck for ppl who don't pre-order

I heard Sprint wasn't waiving activation fees anymore, so Amazon is definitely looking like the better deal. EVO's down to $89.99, instead of $149.99 on Sprint site

May I catch it on time??? 23% discount is favorable. Whatever you buy is 23% discount?

GreenMachine

I think it is 23% no matter what you buy as long as you buy it using the links that they give you on the site.

Here's a couple links for the deal with Amazon (http://****************/StudentRate/bentley/get-bentley-student-deals/Amazon-Wireless-Student-Discounts--/0) and Wirefly (http://****************/StudentRate/bentley/get-bentley-student-deals/Wirefly-Student-Discounts--/0)

I'm not sure how long ago this was added on but it looks like you can just pre-order the EVO 3D using the Amazon or Wirefly links (http://****************/StudentRate/itt-tech-Woburn/get-itt-tech-Woburn-student-deals/HTC-EVO-3D-Coming-Soon----/0) provided, and you'll get the monthly discount. I might just do this so I can just fill out the info myself.

I just saw this Amazon Student Discount mentioned in another thread. How does pre-ordering work on Amazon? Does anyone have more details on the process, how long it takes to get the phone, how a discount is applied to your account?

Katee
06-15-2011, 12:18 PM
Pre-Ordering on Amazon is the same process as if you were buying a new phone that's already out. You chose if your an new customer or upgrading or adding to an existing plan, then follow what it says pick plan etc...then just sign in with your amazon acct or make one. It's free 2-day shipping. Once you get the phones you call studentrate with your order # and they apply your discount.

You need to be a member on the studentrate site and use their links to purchase a new phone or upgrade. Then they'll apply the discount to your account. I'm pretty sure the discount lasts on your account until you cancel your service.
