I did a lil research and found two things, pop the battery out and that should fix it (but the battery cant come out of the droid 4, so that wont work) and go to settings then applications then quick launch. The problem is when I go to settings I cant find applications only apps and when I click that I still cant find quick launch even when I hit the all button, ive had my droid 4 for a few months now and this is the first time it has happen and it is very annoying, can anyone help and guide me to where it is, so I can get rid of it

I'm having the exact same problem. I cannot disable Quicklaunch because its simply not there.

SOMEONE please help us! Having to restart the phone multiple times per day is really bothersome. And this is only one of the several keyboard issues requiring a restart to temporarily eliminate them. If I could disable these app hot keys, that would be a step in the right direction.

Try accessing the keyboard settings and try to find it there. If that doesn't work, you can try an alternative keyboard on the Google Play.
