The seller in a little accessory shop, suggested the 2 amp travel charger is faster to charge the phone and is suitable for Note 2. He is not sure if it is safe for the smaller battery capacity of Note 1. The faster is of course better,but........Can anyone with knowledge advise? Since it's not Samsung original, Samsung will not commit themselves! (understandable as they only want to sell you their stuff)

I cannot comment specifically, but I use a non-apple 2.1amp charger for my iPhone. Most phones will only draw the current they can use safely. The most important piece is the voltage, which for most USB chargers is 5VDC.

Thanks for info. Did you notice that you now need less charging time for fully charged when using the non Apple 2.1amp charger for your iPhone?

Oops, I forgot to mention that.

Yes, it is about 1/3 to 1/2 the charge time. The stock charger is only 0.5 Amps, but the 2.1 Amp charger does not cut it down to 1/4 as math would indicate, but it is definitely much much quicker.

This is the same behavior for both my iPhone 5 and my previous iPhone 4.

Thanks again. I'll have a look to see if the package also stated 5 VDC when I go to the shop. Has any Note user out there had similar experience with a non Samsung charger?
